Meet the Team

Meet Our Team

I find interacting with our patients and getting to know each of them on a personal level very rewarding. I love that we are able to deliver care that truly changes and improves lives, by creating healthy mouths and bodies. It’s fulfilling to watch a patient move from having serious periodontal issues to having great oral health and a beautiful smile, and to watch how much happier they are as treatment progresses.

My job duties involve assisting Dr. Chrispens and Dr. Evans during surgeries, treatment presentation, post-operative exams, sterilization, caring for patients during their procedures and explaining how to care for themselves before, during and after procedures. I make sure he has everything needed, but concentrate on the patient we’re caring for, telling them what the doctor is doing and how much progress we’re making, as well as checking to make sure they’re comfortable and relaxed. I attended Modesto Junior College Dental Assisting Program from 1985-1987 and graduated with an AA Degree. I started Assisting in May 1987.

During my time off I enjoy Disneyland, cooking, watching movies, spending time with my adult son and daughter, and  being at the beach with our dog Blueberry.

Every day here gives me the opportunity to provide our patients with great healthcare that truly improves their health and their life. Our team works together to deliver the best patient experience, and patient comfort is always our goal.

I meet and greet our patients, and present treatment plans to them, and I explain what’s involved and how the different procedures work. I also provide chair side assistance to Dr. Chrispens and Dr. Evans during surgeries and post-operative appointments, supporting them and talking with the patient to make sure they are comfortable. Sterilization and cleanliness are also among my duties, and I make sure that I exceed expectations with both.

I love spending my time outside of work with my wonderful wife of 3 years, Amanda, family, friends, and my pets. I enjoy going to the gym and am an avid sports fan. Go Dodgers and Lakers!

I enjoy my work because it allows me to build strong relationships with my patient which develops their trust. Educating each person about their oral health and how it relates to their overall well-being helps them understand their dental needs so they are comfortable making informed decisions about treatment.

While I spend time treating and maintaining a patient's periodontal health, I learn about their life, hobbies, and activities. These conversations not only establish a bond between us, but also give me insight into how to help the person keep their oral hygiene at its strongest.

I know I make a difference in the lives of my patients, and that's a very rewarding feeling. I graduated from USC - Dental Hygiene class of 1982. I have been married since 1988 to my husband, Andrew.  We have two adult daughters, Kaitlin and Erin and a Golden Retriever, Bodie. I love outdoor activities like hiking, biking, yoga, and horseback riding.

The best part about my job is getting to know my patients so that I can help them resolve any oral hygiene challenges they have and guide them to make changes to attain a healthy mouth, which leads to a healthier body.  My job is the most satisfying when I see improvements in a patient's oral health after they have implemented the changes I suggest.

Education is a large part of my job.  As a Hygienist, I use x-rays, the intraoral camera and various aids to help the patient understand the condition of their mouth and how it affects their overall systemic health.  I enjoy working with and learning from Dr Chrispens and Dr Evans.  They use their years of experience to guide the hygienists to give the highest standard of care.

I graduated from Indiana University Dental School's Hygiene Program.  We lived in Indiana for over twenty years before moving back to California.  My husband, Ron, and I have four grown children.  We try to spend as much time as possible getting together with them.  We enjoy hiking, riding bikes, and going to the beach and major league baseball games.

It’s amazing when a patient realizes that my primary goal is to help them better their overall health by delivering care that is focused on their specific needs.  Each patient that sits in my chair presents unique desires and it is my job to, not only listen to them, but educate them to their individual strengths and tailor a treatment plan that fits them.  With that, I am able to give each patient the ideal tools, to take home, that fit into their need and lifestyles.  There is nothing better than a patient with a healthy and confident smile!

I love spending my time with family, my boyfriend and our friends, but more importantly is my fur baby Freddie!  I am a lover or nature and enjoy hiking and camping whenever the opportunity presents!

My favorite part of my day is working with our patients, helping them understand what we do, how we do it, and why it’s important, and then watching their faces as their mouth reaches its healthiest state. I enjoy interacting with people and have fun with everyone who walks through our door. I’m responsible for all aspects of running the front office, to ensure that our patients receive the ideal treatment for their individual needs.

This is a practice that is devoted to compassionate, gentle care, and we always emphasize patient education in all our discussions, so each person has a clear understanding of what’s happening, what to expect, and what the results will be.

My husband Mike and I have been married since 1990.  Our son, Phillip, graduated in 2016 from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.  He is currently working in Anaheim Hills at Parsec Automatic Corporation as a Computer Programer and Engineer. We also have a Dachshund/Min Pin dog, Jade, who keeps us entertained while running the house. I enjoy cooking, gardening, decorating, and country music. I’ve also been involved with Boy Scouts of America since 2002 and am proud that both my son and my nephew are Eagle Scouts. Currently my husband and I, along with my sister and brother-in-law, are the Charter Organization for Boy Scout Troop 1999 in Garden Grove.

Every day I interact with fascinating individuals from diverse backgrounds, and learn about their experiences and interests. There is no such thing as a dull conversation, and I love the relationships that develop during each person’s time in our care.

With my background as teacher, curriculum director, and elementary principal, I am able to assist patients in understanding their clinical needs and how the procedures we offer will put them on the path to restored oral health. When they realize we are genuinely concerned about them as a whole person, and want to help them, you can see the relief in their faces. They know they’ve come to the right practice for their periodontal needs.

Outside of work, my favorite times are activities with my grandsons, Rorke & Ronan. I also love traveling, playing tennis, listening to jazz, and losing myself in a good book.
